Anderson being referred to Benjamin Button on Twitter, his achievements are astounding.

Loving the declaration on the first day.

Obviously Brook is ridiculous, but most pleasing to see Duckett scoring runs in different conditions. I reckon Bairstow might be his opening partner in the Ashes, Crawley surely can't keep getting lives.

Brooks is a fine player, isn't he?

Like Root, he seems to see the ball bigger than most. Duckett played well. Never been sure about him, especially as he was also a chubster. But he played well.

Going to be a good test, this. Liked England swinging early so that they could declare under the lights. But it does mean they might be batting under them tonight!

the most undervalued sportsman we've produced in my lifetime, by a country mile.

I cannot believe he's still going at 40. Remarkable.

A test wicket in 21 consecutive years. He's got a great chance of surpassing Warne for second all time. I wonder if that's his target and then he retires. Or perhaps the Ashes this summer.

Although if he can still do the business, why stop?

And when England were shit under Root, people were saying we won't win tests, with both these two in the side.

Suspect this summer's Ashes could be their last hurrah. Both stay fit, we have an excellent chance of winning back The Ashes. Really missed Anderson in 2019.

Re: NZ v England
Anderson has gone back to number 1 on the ICC test bowling rankings. Remarkable for a 40 year old.

26 wickets to pass Warne for second all time wicket takers.
He could do that during the ashes this summer, especially if he plays against Ireland in June.

The legend is 31 wickets away from an incredible 1000 in England colours in all 3 formats - he currently stands at 682 test wickets, 269 ODI and 18 T20

Zak Crawley must be on for some kind of record as well?

Re: NZ v England
Saw the start, very tricky conditions, thought Pope looked in fantastic touch, just got a beauty, Root needs to keep playing his game and let everyone else whack it, and how fucking good is this young lad?

YJB to replace Crawley for the Ashes. What a batting line up that would be!

LeroysBoots 10:24 Fri Feb 24
Re: NZ v England
Ah Crawley,. Needs to get back to Canterbury and start scoring runs and working on his catching !

I hope whatever they do to bring in Bairstow, then it's not at the expense of Foakes.

I suppose the most logical thing would be to allow Bairstow to open and drop CrawLOLey.
